Kristine Megrikian launched her signature contemporary women’s line in February 2009. A strong passion for design and an appreciation for avant garde fashion brought Megrikian to her newest venture, an inspiring collection of sophisticated edgy clothing for women. The tristan + trista Collection immediately cultivated an impressive buzz in Japan when it was taken there for a test preview. What makes tristan + trista unique is that designer understands the female body. Being a curvy woman herself, Megrikian wanted to create high fashion clothing that would be flattering and sexy at the same time. “I wanted to create clothing that combined both aesthetics that is flattering and comfortable. There is no reason why women can’t look sexy and comfortable in fashion forward clothing. Why not let the clothing do all the work.” And tristan + trista has done just that. The line utilizes the finest silks, wools and leathers for its pieces. The clothing is made to give its customers luxury while utilizing the practicality of clothing. For this reason, most of the dresses have sewn in body shapers to slim and perfect the body underneath, while the top layer becomes a mere decorative shell. In addition, almost all the pieces have structure, which add to the overall attention to detail the line exudes. Currently, the collections consists of leather jackets, dresses, jackets, coats and skirts, tops and knits. Everything is produced in Los Angeles.
